The Docksider has a big advantage as there are not a lot of competing establishments for it to deal with. And, the imagination used to operate it sort of reflects that. It is right on main street, has easy access to the water, and can take advantage of catering to anyone that has a partner shopping in town, that might want to stop in for a drink or two. Service can be spotty, even from the same bartender, depending how busy it is. As a rule, I only visit the Docksider during the day. It is a nice place to stop in and have a couple rounds while you are boating. At night it is so badly over lit it is distracting. If you like cheap beer-distributor-hand-out decor, banquet chairs, and lighting that is more intense than a hospital operating room - this is the place for you. It is like a church basement with beer signs.
I do highly recommend the bloody marys. Well done, flavorful, and sporting "customized" olives that are spruced up on site. They are good enough that I occasional order them on the side. A true highlight.
